163 Glendale Rd,
We threw caution to the wind, left our farm in Queensland and bought a little vineyard in northern Tassie. In the blink of an eye we were heading across Bass Strait with the ute, 2 cattle dogs, a horse and a prissy cat. As far as we’re concerned, Viticulture is King. Growing gorgeous balanced fruit is a labour of love and an undervalued art.
We’re both from farming backgrounds so it’s no surprise that Viticulture is what we are all about. We don’t subscribe to any specific viticultural systems or theories, instead choosing to use a combination of sciences and what feels right. This is hands on grape growing. In Tasmania we’re blessed with a long, cool growing season, which combined with good vine health and balance can produce intense, rich varietal characters in our fruit.
Our Sparkling is very important to us, Joanie loved Sparkling (or ‘Champagne‘ as she used to call it) and would celebrate the smallest of milestones with her friends and family. Any excuse would do… Our aim was to create an affordable ‘any excuse’ Sparkling that was also worthy of a celebration.
The ‘Joanie’ NV Sparkling has a fine & persistent bead, vibrant aromas of lemon curd, honeysuckle and fresh strawberry, with fresh granny smith apple, lemon zest and creamy shortbread on the palate. No respectable drinks fridge would be without one!
